WWE: New details on the offer from AEW to Edge
Edge returned to fight in a WWE ring a decade after the last fight before he retired due to neck injuries, and he did so at WrestleMania 36 against Randy Orton.
In a recent documentary about 24 documentaries, Edge revealed that he had contact with AEW before finally signing with WWE. This wasn’t the only one looking for him to get him back in the ring.
However, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that AEW’s offer has never come close to that of WWE for Edge, which is much more profitable in terms of salary and probably also in terms of appearance.
Edge himself said when he received the offer from “another association” that he did not name for privacy reasons, he spoke to Vince McMahon about it because he considered him his mentor, the person who believed most in him, everyone in his career and therefore he felt compelled to inform his historic WWE chief.
