Libra: how to organize a lottery on the blockchain
When we hear about Balance immediately think of Facebook’s “crypto” and overshadow its blockchain, or better still the system it will use to manage transactions and its smart contract protocol called MOVE.
And it is on this aspect that certain European children have concentrated by taking its programming language for construction a smart contract to organize a lottery system.
A user bets a number on a specific event and, if the linked event occurs, then the user wins the bet. This, translated into the world of insurance, obliges a user who pays for the service offered by the insurance, who has prepared an event which may be theft, fire or other, and the insurance therefore undertakes to pay the user if that certain event should occur.
The message is very detailed and there are all the scripts to follow with the explanation to understand what it would be used for set up a DIY lottery on the Libra blockchain.
In addition, we can see how it is possible to create and participate in a lottery by checking the number of participants and setting the ticket amount; while with regard to the choice of winner and the relative prize, this must be done manually.
The team at the end of the article concludes by explaining that it was apparently not easy to build this system, but in reality have encountered many problems since the documentation available on Libra is not complete.
In the meantime, the Libra project seems far from being abandoned: in fact, it has not been FINMA license and Shopify joined the Libra Association, demonstrating that 2020 could still be a year of developing and adjusting future plans for this project.
