Kraken: exchange creates jobs
During foreclosure due to the coronavirus pandemic, the exchange Kraken increased the workforce, hiring new employees to deal with a sudden increase in activity on its platform.
This is what the Chief Brand Officer of Kraken revealed, Christina Yee, in an interview with Fortune Magazine.
Therefore, not all productive sectors have been affected by the foreclosure. Some, such as online exchanges or streaming video, for example, have faced increased demand, precisely because of the situation that has arisen.
Locking, united in Bitcoin halving, increased the activity on the exchange platform so much that the company quickly ran out of staff.
Who initiated the Kraken exchange
For this reason, the CEO Jesse Powell in March, it decided to send an online questionnaire to 800 staff members to ask if they had family members who would have liked to work for Kraken.
In fact, the foreclosure has caused massive unemployment, even among the friends and relatives of company employees, and after realizing this, Powell decided to combine the needs of the company with those of the families of his employees by offering a job.
After receiving nearly 400 reports in response to the questionnaire, to which more than a quarter of employees responded, 94 new positions were occupied especially in customer service, because new registered accounts must be checked to ensure their compliance with banking laws.
The selection was also made by giving priority to candidates who said they were in great financial difficulty.
Christina Yee he stated:
“We have hired the wives, husbands, mothers, children and roommates of the people.”
In addition, he added that this initiative also offered other advantages, since, for example, the fact that the new employees live with the employees of the company accelerated their training and facilitated communication.
Yee commented saying:
“Everyone is more productive because of their ability to share ideas and because they care less about their loved ones.”
In addition, some of the new hires are now paid less than the previous one, but have accepted the same thing because a stable job is preferable to no job at that time.
Each worker also received a corporate laptop.
The success of the initiative was such that Kraken plans to launch second round selection with which to hire 100 other workers.
The company said that while the situation in the crypto markets remains frantic, it intends to retain all new hires hired in the future.
