AEW / WWE: Brodie Lee talks about how Vince McMahon let him down, even when he was intercontinental champion
Brodie Lee is now on the AEW and probably has a much better chance of securing a big place on TV than ever before on the WWE. During Talk is Jericho, Brodie Lee discussed his short stay as an intercontinental champion. won the title but didn’t do much with it:
“I won the intercontinental title. I had it for 27 days, I think, and I worked with Dolph Ziggler on all live events over the following months. I had a lot of fun making a great ranking game with Dolph and that was probably the highlight. He was in his hometown. My wife was worried about me because she was there and thought I was injured, so I knew I had done a good job. It was the high point, but even then I don’t think I won a belt match on TV. I had a lot of games that ended with a lock, I lost a lot of games and it was almost as if I had lost all of my favor immediately after winning the belt. They didn’t give me the opportunity to do anything about it. I gave a lot of ideas to change the character, but Vince McMahon didn’t like it. “
Brodie Lee states that McMahon didn’t like the fact that he could have a southern accent.
